Her

img_2803-1

It’s midnight;

She looks out from her window, unnerving,

The overwhelming darkness completely captures her,

She’s not amongst the ones who get intimidated by darkness,

Rather, it resonates with her soul.

The eerie silence is what she craves for,

She stays still,

Still as the leaves when the winds mourn,

Minutes and hours creep by,

She has lost track of time,

Her train of thoughts is far away,

Far, far away,

In the lands which are the graveyards of unspoken words,

In the realm of broken promises and regrets.

It’s the darkest hour of the night,

She’s enters her own universe,

One in which the ghosts of her past don’t scare her anymore,

Where the chains of her mistakes break free;

Yet,

Her heart is caged,

It’s heavy with the rocks of sadness, remorse, failure;

She wants to break free,

Oh dear-

How much she yearns to break free and fly away!
A gush of wind blows by,

An unsettling chill runs down her spine,

Making her aware of her strength,

She knows she has it within her,

All she needs is faith upon herself.

Bit by bit she breaks those rocks,

Crushes and crumbles them,

Each rock of sadness,

Of remorse,

Of failure!

Finally,

Her heart is caged no more,

There’s nothing holding her back,

She looks up to the sky,

The darkness seems to slowly fade away.
A single ray of sunshine hits her face,

She can smell the fragrance of morning air, fresh grass and the flowers,

Her soul, now lightened,

Leaves the shadow of the broken, lonely girl,

And attains a new persona,

An invincible soul,

Unvanquished by the harsh realities,

Ready to face the world,

To conquer all her fears and vulnerabilities!

Thence begins a new day,

The birth of a new soul,

A soul which chose to overcome darkness,

And burn brighter than the stars!
